Learning to ski is open to ages four and up so, while your kids are having their lesson, why not learn to ski yourself? Once you’re all done, meet on the slopes and find out what you’ve been missing all along.
School holiday programmes don’t get much better than this
The team at Mt Ruapehu take things up a notch in the school holidays, providing the most epic of all school holiday programmes. Send the kids to the Mt Ruapehu kid’s holiday crew for five amazing days with an instructor and fellow snow-goers.
Kids will be fully supervised throughout the day and will enjoy the royal treatment with full supervision, a delicious lunch and lift-line priority. At the end of the five days, these kids will be riding those skis and snowboards like pros.
Parents can book one week or two. If the kids like the first week that much, send them back for a second round. What a way to get through the holidays!
In a group or privately – you pick your learning style!
We all have different ways of learning. Some enjoy learning alongside others, some enjoy learning one-on-one. With the Mt Ruapehu learn to ski programmes, you can choose what environment suits you best.
If you’re visiting from out of town and only have a few days up your sleeve, group or private lessons will be right up your alley.
Group lessons are a fun, vibrant environment with lots of encouragement. Kids love the group lessons as it gives them an opportunity to make friends on the mountain while learning a new skill. For the parents, here’s your chance to learn something new and have a great time doing it.
Group lessons are available at both Whakapapa and Turoa ski fields.
Kids aged four to 17 can enjoy the youth full-day ski group lessons and kids 8 to 17 can enjoy the youth full-day snowboard lessons. There are two lessons included in each booking, each lesson running for two and a half hours.
Adult group lessons run for one hour and 50 minutes. When you’ve finished your lesson, the kids will still have 40 minutes left on the clock. You can spend this time perfecting the skills you’ve just learned. Each booking comes with two lessons and is open to riders of all skill levels.
The team at Mt Ruapehu know that it’s not everyone’s cup of tea to learn in a group environment and one-on-one lessons are there for those who’d prefer to learn on their own.
Private lessons are great for beginners who want to learn to ski or snowboard quickly. Advanced riders also take advantage of private lessons if they want to perfect their technique.
Lessons range from two to six hours and are available at both Whakapapa and Turoa ski fields.
